The Dream That Showed Me How Much I’ve Healed
Last night I had a dream that stayed with me long after I opened my eyes.
I dreamed I was deeply in love with someone who felt safe, kind, and comforting. There were obstacles in the dream, and at one point we were separated, but that wasn’t the part that mattered.
The part that mattered was how I felt.
Safe.
Warm.
At home.
When I woke up, I noticed something unexpected. The old stories were gone.
For years, there was a voice inside me that whispered things like:
“You’re too broken.”
“You’re too rough around the edges.”
“Someone like that would never choose you.”
Healing isn’t always loud. Sometimes it shows up in quiet moments like this.
Because when I woke up, I didn’t hear those thoughts anymore.
Instead, I felt grateful.
Grateful for the healing that has happened.
Grateful for the growth.
Grateful that I can finally imagine healthy love without immediately believing I am unworthy of it.
The dream wasn’t about finding a person.
It was about finding a new relationship with myself.
It reminded me that healing isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about becoming willing to receive what once felt impossible.
Maybe the greatest gift wasn’t the dream itself.
Maybe it was waking up and realizing the wounded voice no longer had the final say.
No matter where you start, healing can change the way you see yourself, your future, and the love you believe you deserve.
